I will dominate 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to build hype for next month's bout.

Former twice unified boxing king Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's biggest financial successes, regularly earning substantial earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As both boxers met for the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly happening.
