Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hard surfaces
A resurgent Medvedev claimed his initial trophy for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a challenging season, managing just one match at the big events and undergoing a setback at the US Open.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in especial - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-term coach Cervara.
Now training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set win over challenger Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's maiden championship after the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt after March of that year.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has achieved 21 victories at twenty-one distinct tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to secure a title is really nice," stated ranked player the champion.
"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my child Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his last six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament earlier this year.
The player's counter-punching approach and recurring reactions on court had led commentators to doubt if his skill to perform at the highest level was concluded.
However the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to approach the net and perform assertively, supported by an better serve.
The champion recovered from a deficit in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, taking 4 of the last five points to take the lead.
The pair exchanged breaks in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his first ATP Tour victory, took control to push for a final set.
He saved four initial break points in a close third set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.
Fittingly, the winner clinched victory with a shot at the net, with his opponent incapable to control a volley after a lengthy match.
